Biography: Steve Sandberg is a three-time Emmy nominated Composer, keyboardist and musical director. His work composing songs and underscoring for “Dora the Explorer” and “Go, Diego, Go” helped to make these shows the landmark they are in children’s programming, and in 2014 he will be scoring the upcoming “Dora and Friends”. He studied music at Yale University and was deeply influenced by Robert Farris Thompson, who introduced him to African culture and encouraged his love affair with Latin music, which he carried out working with many Latin artists, including Daniel Ponce, Ruben Blades and Bebel Gilberto.

In addition to working on commercial projects, Steve has followed his own muse with his original music projects.  He has brought together his interest in north Indian raga singing with looping, electronics, poetry and improvisation in his appearances at the Guggenheim Museum World Music Series, the Knitting Factory, Brooklyn’s Sideshow Gallery and other NYC venues.
