Biography: Scott Ostrander (b.1987) lives in the Chicago suburbs and works as a trumpeter, private music teacher, and composer of concert/chamber music. He teaches all brass instruments, piano, guitar, and snare drum. As a composer, he has written music for concert bands, theater productions, and chamber instrument combos. His passion for music-making began at age 10 with music instruction on the trumpet. With a foundation in music set in his early years, he continued to study in high school where he discovered an interest in composing music. After he received the Sibelius music notation software, he began to create a variety of compositions that explored the world of sound. This continued with formal education in music theory and composition at Concordia University Chicago.
